The “General Contractor” approach

The “general contractor” approach: optimising the management of your current and end-of-life products

Reverse Logistics has long been at the heart of Geodis’ strategy. The Group’s approach, which is based on managing current and end-of-life products, now focuses on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and products from the automotive maintenance and repair business, as a direct result of new European directives in these fields.

In order to meet its customers’ requirements, Geodis has established a centralised, General Contractor-style organisational structure at European level, which provides the following services:

  • sourcing, auditing, selecting and monitoring of the various service providers: collection, transport, logistics, treatment, etc.

  • coordinating operational management teams at national level,

  • allowing quick implementation of best practices at European level,

  • ensuring all processes are in line with current legislation,

  • and guaranteeing complete traceability across the board: WTNs, regulatory statistics, etc.
  • Geodis positions itself as a Solutions Integrator that manages the complete reverse logistics chain, using jointly its own resources and the best service providers available on the market.
