The “General Contractor” approach
The “general contractor” approach: optimising the management of your current and end-of-life products
Reverse Logistics has long been at the heart of Geodis’ strategy. The Group’s approach, which is based on managing current and end-of-life products, now focuses on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and products from the automotive maintenance and repair business, as a direct result of new European directives in these fields.
In order to meet its customers’ requirements, Geodis has established a centralised, General Contractor-style organisational structure at European level, which provides the following services:
sourcing, auditing, selecting and monitoring of the various service providers: collection, transport, logistics, treatment, etc.
coordinating operational management teams at national level,
allowing quick implementation of best practices at European level,
ensuring all processes are in line with current legislation,
and guaranteeing complete traceability across the board: WTNs, regulatory statistics, etc.
Geodis positions itself as a Solutions Integrator that manages the complete reverse logistics chain, using jointly its own resources and the best service providers available on the market.
