" ...go for it and don't give up!... " |
I fell in love with the logistics business! That's how I felt in 1985, when I was an intern at Geodis. An opening came up in the air and sea freight department and I grabbed it with both hands. It seemed like the best bet to me because I wanted to work with Japan and the United States. I've worked my way up since then from transport declarant to director of international business.
In my profession, being a woman is a positive thing. We know how to show empathy for the customer, which makes working with them easier. To those women interested in working in this business, I would say: "Go for it and don't give up!" Working with contacts all over the world is exciting, but you have to be creative to get around the problems. Between all the new challenges facing the sector and finding the solutions, I certainly have my work cut out for me.
