"...logistics is not an exclusively male environment..." |
I've been working in the sales department since January 2003 and am now in charge of our brand new front office team. My job entails being in direct contact with the customers and developing the air freight market. It's demanding, fast-paced work that requires coordination as we have to find solutions without delay.
I like the "ambassador" part of my job: the human contact is stimulating. Being a woman is an asset in terms of resolving the problems that can come up: our customers tend to react more calmly when dealing with a woman.
There's no room for discrimination at Geodis. We have as many women here as we do men, even at management level. Logistics is not an exclusively male environment: we have to put an end to this stereotype! At the end of the day, it's your skills that matter. |
