[On November 5th, 2008, on the occasion of a prestigious evening event gathering all Irish manufacturers and chaired by the Irish Prime Minister, the Irish Exporters Association (IEA) awarded Geodis with the Logistics Company of the Year Award 2008.

This award honours the logistics provider which offers particularly innovative solutions and which is close to the customer, to the success of Irish exporting companies. Among the application forms submitted this year: Burke Shipping Group, DHL, Kuehne & Nagel and Geodis Ireland were nominated. The jury decided to choose Geodis for the “effective and efficient logistics supply chain management for its worldwide customers”.
Geodis namely highlighted 4 major assets:
• Its multi-business global offer and its ability to offer innovative value-added services,
• The high quality of its Damastown platform, built in 2002, and which got the certifications of the Irish Medicines Board for pharmaceutical products; certified as a “known consignor” for international airfreight movements,
• Its Track and Trace system, directly available to the customers through the Internet,
• Its sustainable development policy taking into account the safety of the teams and the security of the goods and products entrusted by the customers, as well as the protection of the environment.
On receiving the Award, David O’Brien, Ireland Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to have won the award which recognizes the strategic importance of innovative supply chain solutions to the success of Irish exporting companies. We are proud of the achievement and will continue to listen to our customers and adapt our services to meet their changing needs”.
The Irish Exporters Association, established in 1951 and including more than 4,000 members, brings together all companies concerned by the issues related to international trade; SME’s as well as major exporting companies or service providers contributing to make the international exchange processes easier.
