Communication on Maersk Honam vessel on fire

On Tuesday (March 7th) afternoon, the Maersk Honam reported a serious fire in one of its cargo holds.

Enroute from Singapore towards Suez, the vessel is currently positioned around 900 nautical miles southeast of Salalah, Oman. Based on the last report from the carrier, the fire onboard continues and the situation of the vessel is very critical. 

GEODIS has identified several shipments booked on this vessel. We are in the process of reaching out to impacted customers and we are in regular contact with the ship owner and are diligently monitoring the situation. 

23 crew members have been successfully evacuated and search and rescue operations are ongoing for four (4) crew members regrettably remaining missing.
